Will I be able to find a car for 2,000 dollars?

Around our apartment building they just started construction. The buses don't run here anymore because of it. I'm really worried about getting to school this fall now. My boyfriends mom is giving me 1,500 (love her) and I'm hoping to save 500 by then. All the cars I found on car soup has soooo many miles on it. I was wondering if it's possible to find a car for 2,000 just to get me to school and back and doesn't have a million miles put on it? Thanks!
