Did the founding fathers try and warn us?

Nope. Your cherry-picking quotes, and think they apple to a world 230 years later. Ignorant, but a nice try. During the 1st republican debate of the year, one of the gents commented that it was OK for the US to default on its loans. His reasoning, "We defaulted in 1863, and it all worked out." There you go. One of the brightest minds of the 19th century, similar to you.
